Mrs. Leppard started playing the cello in the 3rd grade, and started singing in chorus in 4th grade. This began a lifelong love of music. She studied Voice Performance and Cello Performance at the University of Central Florida in Orlando, where she graduated with degrees in both in 2001. After college, she began teaching strings with a non-profit program called A Gift for Music that serves children in Title I schools in Orange County, FL. She loved teaching so much, that she decided to pursue her Master's degree in Music Education, which she received from UCF in 2004.
After 10 years in the classroom as an orchestra and guitar teacher at the elementary and middle school levels, she took some time off to stay home with her two beautiful children, Jonathan and Aurora. She has been married to Benjamin since 2005, and was thrilled to follow him to the LA area to pursue his own dream job as a SpaceX computer engineer. In 2019 she was pleased to return to the classroom as a music teacher with Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District. |
